February 8, 2017 –Ambassador Hamdullah Mohib met with Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) at the Capitol Hill.
Ambassador Mohib and Sen. Kaine discussed the importance and the need for the bipartisan support to the continuity of the U.S. support for Afghanistan, and the endurance of bilateral strategic partnership.
The two men also discussed regional and global dynamics of terrorism, and how important it is to equip the Afghan security forces, especially with air support because its critical in winning the war against the Taliban, ISIS and other terrorist groups.
The Afghan Air force need for American helicopters is essential, and the Senator agreed to follow up on the submitted proposal from DoD to the Senate.
Senator Tim Kaine ran with Sec. Hilary Clinton in their bid for the 2016 Presidential election.
