Embassy Honors Courtney Cooper And Laurel Miller For Their Work On Afghan Issues

Ambassador Hamdullah Mohib and Political Counselors Abdul Nafay Sana and Ramin Manawi welcomed Ms. Laurel Miller and Ms. Courtney Cooper to the Embassy on July 11 to thank them for their years of service in the U.S. government and their work with the Embassy on issues of importance to Afghanistan.

Ms. Miller recently stepped down as Acting Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan at the U.S. Department of State. She is now a senior foreign policy expert at the RAND Corporation. Ms. Cooper also recently stepped down as Director for Afghanistan at the National Security Council. She also served in the U.S. Embassy in Kabul.  

 Ms. Miller thanked the Ambassador for being committed to serving his country and Ms. Cooper noted with appreciation the enduring US-Afghan partnership. Both women were presented with gifts of appreciation before a farewell dinner in their honor.
