Abdul Nafay Sana is Political Counselor of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington D.C. He joined the Embassy in September of 2015 acting as liaison to United States Congress. Prior to joining the Embassy, Sana worked as Director-General of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kandahar for three years. He worked in different capacities as a staff-member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan before becoming Director-General.
Sana’s published works include, “Socio-political Legacy of Bacha Khan’s Non-Violence Movement”, translation of the “Victor of Maiwand”, articles on contemporary literature and series of columns on current affairs.
He has received certificates of appreciation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Afghanistan’s House of Representatives (Wolesi Jirga) and the Governor of Kandahar. He has also received appreciation as a competent writer by the Ministry of Information and Culture of Afghanistan.
