Afghan Robotics Team Win Award and visit Washington, DC

On October 10, Ms. Roya Mahboob and two of the six all-girl Afghan Robotics Team, visited New York City (NYC) to receive an award in honor of their hard work and commitment to make a difference in Asia and the world. Ms. Madina Qasimi, Minister Counselor and Chargé d’Affaires attended the 2018 Asia Society Game Changer Awards ceremony where the Afghan Robotics Team won the Game Changer Award.

After their trip to NYC, they visited Washington, DC and participated from a panel discussion at the Atlantic Council to speak about the team’s achievements, their successful journey and what the future holds for them and the nation.

Later,  Ms. Mahboob and the girls had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Ivanka Trump to speak about the girls’ dreams, journeys and accomplishments. Ms. Trump expressed the administration’s commitment to supporting them in achieving a more peaceful and prosperous future for Afghanistan.Photo taken from Ms. Roya Mahboob’s Instagram Account.

That evening, we were honored to host Ms. Mahboob and the robotics team to congratulate them on their success and for behind agents of change. They represent the new generation of Afghans- ambitious and resilient. Ms. Qasimi told the girls they are a true inspiration and the future of Afghanistan.
