Ambassador Mohib Welcomes New US Ambassador to Afghanistan

On November 17, 2017, Afghan Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Hamdullah Mohib welcomed the new US Ambassador to Afghanistan, John Bass to the Embassy in Washington DC.  

The meeting focused on the US-Afghanistan relationship and ways to strengthen it as the new envoy embarks his tenure. Ambassador Mohib assured Ambassador Bass that he will find the Afghan government a supportive partner of the United States and Afghanistan’s people hospitable. Ambassador Mohib reiterated the current government’s firm determination to improve security, fight corruption, and strengthen rule of law.

Ambassador Bass told Ambassador Mohib he is excited about the new job and looks forward to working with Afghans from all walks of life. On America’s role in Afghanistan, Ambassador Bass said they are there to help and it is ultimately the Afghan people who decide their country’s future.
