The Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, DC strongly condemns the terrorist attack that took place in an educational center in Kabul. Recent information from the Ministry of Public Health reports that 47 were killed and 67 are wounded.
The senseless and barbaric attack is a reminder of the depravity of those who commit such attacks on innocent people and demonstrates the brutal nature of the terrorists whose sole aim is to threaten the peace and security of Afghan citizens. Attacks like this show the sheer contempt for human life of the enemies we face–brutal terrorists who draw no boundaries.
We stand further united as a nation to protect our hard-earned values and principles of freedom and democracy, which afforded these students their rights to pursue an education. It is the right of all Afghan children and young people to pursue their education in peace and security, and we are committed to working with our allies and partners to defeat the threat of global terrorism.
We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed and injured. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with them.
