Provincial Council Leaders Visit Embassy To Brief, Thank Ambassador And Diplomats

May 10, 2017 — Several provincial council leaders from across Afghanistan visited the Embassy to brief Ambassador Mohib on their work and discuss various issues unique to their provinces and the country as a whole. While in Washington as part of the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program, the group thanked Ambassador Mohib and several Embassy diplomats for their efforts to strengthen U.S-Afghan relations.

The delegation included: Karim Atal, the head of Helmand provincial council; Amruddin Wali, the head of Kunduz provincial council; Muhammad Noor Rahmani, the head of Saripul provincial council; Firuzuddin Aimaq, the head of Baghlan provincial council; and Said Azim, the head of Herat provincial council.
